Statement by Elias Bejjani addressing Arizona's tragedy

(Jeremiah 32:17: "Ah, Lord GOD! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you.")

From the Lebanese Canadian Coordinating Council (LCCC), we extend our warmest heartfelt condolences to the families, relatives and friends of the innocent victims that lost their precious lives in the tragedy of Arizona (US) yesterday.

We strongly deplore this senseless and inhuman act of violence, and wish a fast and complete recovery to USA Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and to all others who were injured. Our Sympathy goes in particular to the family of the young girl who sadly was among the victims.

We stress on fact that violence acts against democratically elected officials regardless of where they take place affect and undermine world peace, freedoms and democracy.

As Canadian Lebanese human rights advocates we stands with the people of the United States, our valued friends and neighbours, in this time of grief.

Elias Bejjani/LCCC Founder & Chairman
